On Friday 27th of September 2019 we opened the brewery doors to the public for the very first time. The open day event took place in conjunction with the Allen Valleys Folk Festival, which was established in 2014 and features live folk music, traditional dancing and arts and crafts workshops across multiple venues in the town of Allendale.
The brewery open day featured tours of the brewery, a tap room and live music courtesy of Elle Sunderland and How Askew and a rare chance to pick the brewers brains. The event also saw the first pour of our latest beer Zest (4.5) which proved to be a very popular beer as we ran dry by the end of the evening!
On the morning of the event, set to a 90’s dance-mega-mix soundtrack in true montage fashion, all the staff chipped in to make sure the brewery was looking extra shiny and was more accessible and public friendly and at 3pm we opened the doors. We were delighted to be greeted by an enthusiastic public who came from far and wide to sample the beers, chat to the brewers, listen to some live music, (folk style this time), and peep behind the curtain to see ‘where the magic happens’. A few lucky people also braved the rain en route to the brewery and managed to snag themselves some free Allendale beers and garments courtesy of our special folk music themed treasure hunt.
The event was a massive success and we’re already planning the next one, so stay tuned for announcements.
We would like to thank everyone that came along to support the open day and extended thanks go to musicians How Askew and Elle Sunderland who both turned out fantastic performances.
