You may remember that, in September, we launched Frank’s Fight, a double dry hopped version of our ever popular Golden Plover. This beer was named after Frank, the incredibly brave young son of one of our team's lifelong friends, who has been diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. This requires various invasive treatments including major surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy – tough going for someone so very young. The brilliant news is that Frank has continued to respond well and, whilst he’s not out of the woods yet, the future is looking much brighter.
We asked you to help by buying Frank’s Fight and we pledged to donate 20% of all sales to the fundraising efforts being made by his family and friends to enable Frank to have further pioneering treatment in America, designed to stop this rare and aggressive cancer returning.
We’re proud to report that, with your help, Allendale Brewery were able to contribute £958.14 and the total fund has now exceeded the £200,000 target. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who contributed, you have made a huge difference to the lives of this amazing little boy and his family and we sincerely hope that this will give Frank every chance of living a happy and normal life.
To add to the story one of our team's partners arranged and pulled off a rip roaring charity celeidh night in Stocksfield that was sold out and all proceeds of roughly £850 also went to Frank's Fight.
All the money will be going to Frank's Fight for his treatment now and held safely for 5 years for any future treatments needed. At that date if not needed for Frank, it will go to the Bradley Lowry Foundation for any child facing this battle.
THANK YOU ALL AGAIN - YOUR SUPPORT HELPS FRANK AND HIS FAMILY, BOTH FINANCIALLY AND ALSO EMOTIONALLY KNOWING THAT PEOPLE CARE AND WANT TO HELP.
